About Will Registration

Registration records the existence and tags the location of your Will on the Australian Will Register™, so that the people you have left your estate to, or those you have chosen to be your executors, can find it when you have passed away. Registration ensures that if beneficiaries and executors are unaware that you have made a Will or forgotten where it's located, it can be found by conducting a Will Registration Search.

Your confidentiality is always protected. Only You (and Your solicitor if You used a solicitor) will have access to the copy of Your Will but the Register can be searched by anyone to ascertain the existence of Your Will and its location. Your Will can only be disclosed to a third party if the person searching for your Will has a genuine, bona fide interest and that person can provide a copy of your death certificate. Such person are usually your executor or personal representative.

If your Will is registered with the Australian Will Register™ you have protected your beneficiaries against the Will being forgotten, or the Will being lost after your death.

To register your Will, you can do it online today. If your Will was made by a solicitor then you instruct them to register it for you today. The Australian Will Register™ won’t charge you anything to Register and Registration only takes about 5 minutes.

Once your Will is registered, you can access your Will and other documents securely online at anytime. You can also authorize others to access your Will or other documents, such as your solicitor, executor or loved ones.
